Is there any hidden system setting, developer option, adb command, patch, and/or prop I can change to not require that? Root access is available if required (which I assume would be the case). Barring that, are there any custom ROM which don’t require periodic entry of the PIN in order to use fingerprint unlock?
Devices range from Android 11 to 14 and most currently run LineageOS.
I get why that security feature exists, I really do, but I don’t feel it’s necessary for secondary / around-the-house devices that are not full of my personal details. I’d like to leave fingerprint unlock enabled for convenience and some minor security, but I’m leaning toward just removing the PIN / security altogether.
Afaik there’s no way to change this.
But for around-the-house devices, why don’t you set them to keep unlocked when connected to your Wi-Fi or at your location?
Not all of my devices have smart lock, and the two that do only support on-body detection, GPS-based location, or trusted bluetooth devices. Those two are also the ones that aren’t fully de-Googled, so I’m guessing the smart lock is dependent on that?
I also have a block house with metal roof. With LineageOS not having A-GPS support it makes location-based smart lock untenable.
Bah. Probably just going to disable the lock entirely.
You could use Bluetooth.
Keep a dummy bluetooth device at home, let your phones connect to it, but disable media/phone going to it.
Then use that BT as part of smart lock.
Not pretty, but it does work.
