Where do you get an encrypted phone service though? I don’t know how that would even work without the other party also having to do something about it.
You can’t install Signal, Deltachat, XMPP or Matrix on a feature phone was my point.
That’s true, but my point was that I don’t TECHNICALLY need to use my phone for messaging at all, it would actually feel nicer to only see messages when I’m at my designated connected-to-the-world spot. This being available 24/7 thing is very tiring
I agree with that last statement, but if someone wants to reach me during a time I am available I’d prefer them contact me via E2EE rather than legacy phone line/SMS/MMS. I’d also prefer to use a device that can’t be easily broken into if i lose it.
