Yea, that’s why I’d rather the government itself have an endpoint where the hard part is already implemented.
… ok I’d rather these stupid de-anonymizing laws were found to be against the constitution and completely unable to be forced on us…
Eh, IF the government had an endpoint to verify ID information, it wouldn’t be too bad implementation wise. … buuuut the modern government doesn’t provide anything any more and every damn dev team on the planet shouldn’t have forced access to peoples’ freaking IDs…
Yea, but that’s infinitely better than WhatsApp where every piece of data is owned by Facebook and sold to every marketing firm in the world and freely handed over to cops.
Signal isn’t dodgy like WhatsApp is. It’s just not perfectly anonymous.
If we were talking about real neural networks that have real complexity to them and not LLMs, I might agree. Though we aren’t. We are still years away from any form of AI being capable of gen AI.
Too bad for them, but reality has a left bias when the right denies the basics of reality… All such “bias removing” training will do is make a worse product.
I agree it’s not a useless tool, but only a fool believes it hasn’t been marketed far, far beyond its actual capability.
rofl you claim to understand how they work, yet fail to realize how they cannot produce truth… Pathetic.
You misunderstand how LLMs work. If it were simply true that is was capable of determining truth like an algorithm can reliably produce a result, you would have a point.
But that’s not how LLMs work. At all. What so ever. The information that is supposed to come out of them IS NOT derrived from some static process that simply needs to not have some bits flip sometimes.
The problem with LLMs is they LITERALLY DO NOT THINK. At all. Period. They’re WORSE than a crazy person. They’re like listening to the ramblings of someone talking in their sleep, and pretending that maybe some day that sleeping person will be able to write a collegiate dissertation on a new topic… In their sleep.
Add on top of that the fact that people DO think, CAN reason away falsehoods, sarcasm, and misinformation, yet still constantly come to wrong conclusions… To think LLMs are close to replacing humans is the true ignorant fool position.
I’m sorry, was Discord created by non-capitalists at a time when fascism was taking over?
The situations and time of their creation are not the same.
Yeah, a union would be great, although I feel like that would be something that would have to come quite a ways down the road of ethical devs coming together. After all, not even the FOSS community agrees on what is ethical to give away and to whom.
Maybe a union is still the right term for the abstract ‘coming together’ I’m thinking of, since it’s hard to imagine how they could go from a generic collective to a body that could actually make effective demands, but perhaps it’s roughly the same process as getting a job-wide union off the ground.
Yep! Funny how so many good ideas get ruined by the people that think they deserve the biggest pay checks…
Interesting that ONE of his predicitons sorta’ came true, but the monument thing is CRAZY from modern people!
Humans REALLY need to grow past glorifying paychopaths who happen to have ONE correct hallucination out of thousands.
… Y’know, everyone sucking off “AI” while it’s still wrong a great number of times kinda makes sense, when you factor in how fucking stupid most people are…
They’re doing it for control and to remove the anonymity of online accounts. The leaks are just the cost of doing business to them. Discord might not be saving every ID and associating it to the account name/etc, but the NSA/etc definitely is.
Is it stupid to adopt an innocuous name at a time when governments are cracking down on all sorts of things and trying to be faschie again?
“Revolt” doesn’t exactly say, “don’t ‘investigate’ me government, I promise there’s nothing suspicious.”
lol so you defend that which you do not even use and that which you do not undertand? What a joke…
My hatred is anything but blind, and you calling it such is sealioning beyond belief. I love your hypocrisy… An Apple user without even using Apple products… Truly, your lot in life is more dreary than you could ever admit.
Agile SHOULD have a lot of the things ‘traditional’ management looks for! Though so many, including many college teachers I’ve heard, think of it way too strictly.
It’s just the time scale shrinks as necessary for specific deliverable goals instead of the whole product… instead of having a design for the whole thing from top to bottom, you start with a good overview and implement general arch to service what load you’ll need. Then you break down the tasks, and solve the problems more and more and yadda yadda…
IMO, the people that think Agile Development means only implement the bare minimum … are part of the complete fucking idiot portion of the industry.
Fuck man, why don’t more ethical-ish devs join to make stuff? What’s the missing link on top of easy sharing like FOSS kinda’ already has?
Obviously programming is a bit niche, but fuck… how can ethical programmers come together to survive under capitalism? Sure, profit sharing and coops aren’t bad, but something of a cultural nexus is missing in this space it feels…
They won’t all be interchangeable. They can have totally different max power delivery, and a device is free to require more (up to 240W by spec). The nice thing about USB-PD is it’s negotiated and a device won’t (shouldn’t) try to pull too much power for a given plug. So as long as everyone sticks to specs, they’ll be interchangeable so long as the supply can supply enough. If it cannot, at least a device should keep itself off as if a chord isn’t plugged in, or preferably have some sort of “supply too low” sign.
