You’d be amazed how many people are competent developers but have very little knowledge outside of what their job requires. I have friends in hiring positions and they see it all the time. Inflexible workflows and the complete inability to work if part of that workflow ceases to function are unfortunately common.

Old reddit does the same thing on desktop but if that goes away I’ll be fully done with it. As it is I am about an 80/20 split between lemmy and reddit now so it’s probably going to happen regardless but that would speed things up.
For 15 years, Apple has always lagged behind Android on implementing new features, preferring to wait until they felt their implementations were ready for mainstream consumption and it’s always worked out for them. They should have stuck to that instead of jumping on the AI bandwagon with a half baked technology that most people don’t want or need.
Unfortunately it’s the people between the manufacturers and the consumers that think this current iteration of AI is the future. They even seem to think we want it and can’t wait to pay them for it.
