When I used to work at Walmart in 2012, they still used MS-DOS for their signage
Very nice write up! I didn’t know a few things on here

There is no “dedicated” one for gaming. Ubuntu Mint, Debian are solid ones. I run Mint MATE personally

I feel this. I recently switched jobs and have a work PC (Win11) and work phone (whatever Iphone model) and I feel so dumb using them and I’m really tech savvy

Or you know, 150K

Great. Now “AI” will burn my coffee because it “thinks” I would rather have a hotter temp than I pick.
Good thing I like tea instead lol
Could you run Tor and use the discord web browser version?

Right. It blows me away the required training we have to do for physical files more secured than Fort Knox! Tech world? Eh just throw it in the recycle bin

If VPNs get outlawed for some reason in AZ, Tor is another option. Make sure you download it from their site sonce there are fake Tor apps in the playstores
Is it a laptop? For some reason I’ve always had issues on laptop and suspend mode on linux, I think it’s a commom issue. Which version of mint adn kernal version?

We don’t need AI. Stop destroying the environment with stupid AI

I bet you could get slightly quicker speeds if they ran a pihole or something to block ads.
This is kind of an interesting idea. I wonder if it’s feable to reuse all the old 56k modems?
Sure, but one can argue that data is being exchanged for ads.
Regardless, CoMaps is still a solid offline app that is being worked on. I wish we had a better version of Google or Apple maps without the bloat
