I hate that so much. Being “people” they can essentially “out-compete” actual people in the political process. It’s very much “anything you can do I can do better”. That’s why any solution has to target them directly.

ok apparently we do in fact tax tools. And I can see how AI, being on the cloud, might not normally fall under computer equipment or other things that would be taxed, thus needing it to be specifically included in tax law. Fuck me on that one.
I’ll give you that.
BUT
I still stand by this being a bandaid to a much larger problem concerning capitalists exploiting the labor of many and not being required to give everyone fair pay/equity. The inequality between the workforce and the ownership class is the problem. Them using AI is just their current tool of oppression, but not their only.
We need to address the root cause and directly tax the billionaires. And remove stock backed loans or at least realize their gains and tax them whenever they do use them as collateral for a loan. Shouldnt be able to claim unrealized gains and use it for collateral at the same time.

This is a moronic take. Do we also tax tools when they make a 4 person job a 1/2 person job? This is just an ass backwards way of approaching the wealth inequality and poor working conditions issues by focusing on a tool instead of the system itself.

Honestly, I care a dick load more about Myanmar and enabling genocide than “but think of the children!”. That’s one of the laziest and most misued calls to action and at this point, I honestly dgaf when I hear it. It’s just propaganda at this point.
Don’t be so quick to stereotype us. You’re insulting those of use who do pay attention.
I run a cheaper Bee-Link mini PC for mine with a USB connected hard drive array. They really don’t need much power. Storage is your biggest issue(I’m up to ~40TB)
Mine runs on a mini PC(NUC) hooked up to a hard drive array for the storage. So it’s basically a tiny PC and another box full of hard drives(not required, but you’ll need space somehow…). Pc was around $250.
Very easy and you don’t need to set up an actual “server rack”. Hell, you can use an old laptop.
Also, keep in mind you can hook the miniPC up to your TV or another PCs monitor(assuming you have extra plugs). You don’t need a dedicated monitor for this. Mine uses the same monitor as my gaming PC on a different input. It basically lives on my keyboard tray tucked away running.

I only found out about kiwis because of Hi Chews candies. Apparently they really do use real fruit juice 🤣 Noticed that my candy tasted like “burning” and thought I should probably stop. Some juice with kiwi a few months later made me get checked out by the doc to be sure.
The doctor told me I could eat as much as I want, I’d just be uncomfortable. But there was no risk of death. Antihistamines would probably help, but like you I find it easy enough to just avoid them. Although seasonal allergies are starting to make me reconsider that…

Only food allergy I have and know of is kiwis(how I found out I had allergies at all). Tests confirmed it and when the doctor was explaining it to me he said that birch trees are part of the same family and as such I’d likely get allergies from their pollen as well. My allergies are “scratchy throat and watery eyes” type, not anaphylactic shock “my throat closes up” type.

Interesting. I don’t think it goes both ways. I’m allergic to kiwis and anything in the birch family, but never had a problem with latex.

An laser printer is just a reverse scanner. It’s basically a resin printer with toner. We’re well past those being diy doable. It’s a couple of wires to deliver a charge to the drum and paper, a laser to remove the charge from the drum for the image, and a reservoir for the toner for the drum to pick up. The most complex part is the laser and mirrors for alignment, which is well into hobby diy territory.
I wish we treated corporate crimes as personal crimes committed by the CEO. If they want the cover of personhood, then they get everything that comes with that. See how fast they want to return to being corporations. As it is now, they get the best of both worlds as it suits them.
