I’ve never had those problems. I’m especially surprised by the boot script issue. Mint and Ubuntu are the main “beginners” distros. You’d probably be fine if you went with mint again. Pop_os is supposed to be good. I use EndeavourOS with kde plasma desktop and it’s fantastic. But you have to run the update script weekly to be safe.

0·1 year agoWord is now so bloated that I fear using it. It’s nice to have Wordpad.

Guaranteed they’re a huge expense, and they have no interest in making cool games or experiences. It’s all just angles to dominate or manipulate the customer. Like, just give us computers that play games. Focus on running fast and effective and having cool titles. But nooooo, they want gimmicks and angles and cost-cutting and microtransactions etc etc
