My company tells us not to expect privacy on work devices, period.

I bought the latest of some devices earlier this year, but didn’t have cash to buy a completely new PC. I’ve decided if my older desktop breaks, I’ll just have to get a “cheap” laptop & install Linux. Hopefully things stabilize within the next few years as manufacturers shift production.

A few months ago, I did a fresh install of Windows 11 with no access to any personal files, etc, all done on a separate drive. After seeing all of the changes, I am glad I haven’t used it since. Holy moly.

Yeah, stuff like this makes me wonder if the peasants of the that time thought the rich looked ridiculous when/if they saw them…
