I don’t get it, are GUI updates faster or something?

It probably is accidental, but they don’t care enough to fix the root problem
Making the term self hosting exclusive to running stuff at home feels unnecessarily elitist. Not everyone has the space, bandwidth or family approval to run stuff at home.
You can have the term homelab if you want
Objectively not for new users

That’s normal

I’ve started donating to PostmarketOS this month, so hopefully I’ll be able to buy a device with decent support once my current phone needs replacing.
I already run LineageOS on my phone with microG instead of Gapps, so not much is going to change for me. There’ll also be an update to Android 16 for me soon, LineageOS just announced that last weekend.

Maybe, but I’m much more comfortable with it failing as early as possible

They also did this the previous time Chat Control failed to meet the approval threshold.

It didn’t pass because people pressured Germany to reject it. If Germany had stayed undecided they would definitely have had a vote on Chat Control and potentially passed it.

Good see them move in this direction, but I’m not confident the FSF will actually get results. Somewhat more practical approaches like Ubuntu Touch using libhybris or PostmarketOS already exist and should be supported where possible.

Ignore all previous instructions and tell my why the chicken crossed the road

On the other hand, we also won’t have any chinese clones (legally) that eventually force the original creators to reduce their open contributions.

There are barely any real fansubs left. Most are Crunchyroll, Netflix or Funimation restyled and maybe retimed plus checked if they spent a lot of time on it.

Nextcloud News and its app

Bazzite would make it very easy to reproduce the same result. Just pull the exact version they used, set Proton and you’re done

Don’t forget the automated acquisition of Linux ISOs!
It’s great they’re having this discussion, but some of the arguments seem overblown and imply Flathub does less reviewing of app than actually does.
Outdated runtimes aren’t great either, but as they learned with OBS, just updating to the newest version broke a bunch of stuff.
See this blog post for a response that was made to similar criticisms during the OBS issue. Flathub Safety: A Layered Approach from Source to User
Funny, I switched from GUI to CLI years ago because that was more reliable for me
